The driver's safe
Build your truck driver's evidence file
Updated 8 August 2026 · by Yann, a working truck driver
Gather your card days, your payslips, your calculations and what happens out on the road — so you can prepare a discussion based on precise facts rather than memories.
Six months later, your memory won't be enough
A pay dispute is rarely settled the same day. Weeks go by between the moment you notice something and the moment you talk about it — and whatever wasn't written down disappears. The evidence file is there to keep, at the moment it happens, what you'll need later on.
What you can keep
🎙️ Voice recording
A conversation you take part in, recorded on the spot and dated.
📷 Photos
A loading bay, a document, a problem you noticed: one or more photos per incident.
📝 Notes
The context, what happened, who was there — written down while it's still fresh.
📇 Card days
Your real activity, decoded from your driver card.
🧾 Payslips
Your scanned payslips, with the values used for the audit.
📄 Reports and letters
The calculated gaps and the letter requesting an adjustment, exportable as PDF.
The legal framework, reminded inside the app. You may record a conversation you take part in. No public sharing is allowed. The app shows this reminder the moment you start a recording, rather than letting you find out too late.
Where the figures come from
The amounts that appear in a report don't come out of nowhere: they come from comparing your real activity with the lines on your payslip, using the rates and thresholds set according to your contract. Every gap is broken down item by item, with the calculation and the reference used.

A preparatory file, not a verdict
⚠ What this file is — and what it isn't. It's a working document, dated and sourced, that lets you open the discussion on precise ground. It prejudges no decision and guarantees no outcome. For an official procedure or a significant amount, have it checked by a trade union, a union representative, a lawyer or a qualified professional.

Nothing leaves without your say-so
- Your incidents, days and documents are kept on your device — the app tells you how much space they take up.
- No automatic transmission to your employer or to any third party.
- Exporting is your decision, document by document.
- You can delete a single incident or everything at any time.
- An optional encrypted backup is planned for a future version: it will be switched on by the driver, never by default. In the meantime, remember to export what matters.

Frequently asked questions about the evidence file
What can I keep in the file?▾
Three kinds of items recorded on the spot: a voice recording, one or more photos, and a written note. Each incident is dated and groups its files together. Alongside that, the app keeps your card days, your scanned payslips and the audit reports it generates.
Am I allowed to record a conversation?▾
You may record a conversation you take part in yourself. However, no public sharing is allowed. The app reminds you of this framework at the moment of recording.
Where are my recordings stored?▾
On your device. The app even shows how much space your incidents take up. Nothing is sent automatically.
What is this file actually for?▾
So you don't have to rely on your memory six months later. An unusual instruction, a verbal refusal, a problem on a site: noted the same day, with the date, it carries more weight than a recollection.
Does it guarantee I'll win my case?▾
No, and nobody can guarantee that. It's a preparatory file: it gathers dated items and sourced calculations so the discussion starts on precise ground. The assessment belongs to your employer, and then where applicable to an adviser or a court.
How is it different from the pay audit?▾
The audit compares your card with your payslip and produces a report with figures. The evidence file is broader: it also keeps what can't be put into figures — an exchange, a photo, a note — along with the original documents.
Can I export my file?▾
Yes. Audit reports and letters export as PDF, and you choose what to pass on and to whom. Nothing leaves without your say-so.
What if I lose my phone?▾
Right now the data is on the device only: remember to export what matters. An optional encrypted backup is planned for a future version — it will be switched on by the driver, not by default.
Is tracking my expiry dates part of the file?▾
It's a neighbouring module, with the same logic: keeping track of what expires. Medical check-up, periodic training, card renewal, vehicle inspections and tachograph calibration are all followed there with their dates.
Should I have this file reviewed?▾
For an official step or a significant amount, yes: a trade union, a union representative or a lawyer will see what's missing and what can be argued. The file saves them time, it doesn't replace them.
Keep what you'll need, for when you'll need it
Note it, record it and keep it as it happens — not six months later.
