TruckerMaster is a PWA (Progressive Web App) — no need for APK or the Play Store, installation is done directly from your browser.

On Android (Chrome / Edge / Brave):

1. Open app.truckermaster.fr
2. Tap on the menu ⋮ (3 dots top right)
3. Choose “Install the application” or “Add to Home Screen”
4. The icon appears with your other apps. Launch — it's full screen, like a native app.

On iPhone (Safari):

1. Open app.truckermaster.fr in Safari
2. Tap the icon Share ⬆️ at the bottom
3. Choose “On the home screen”

Advantages: microphone/camera permissions/native notifications, works offline after the first launch, automatic updates without reinstallation.

At the very first launch, the app displays a 3-step welcome screen which offers two choices:

• See the audit as an example — charges a fictitious month (May 2025, MARTIN J-P, 22 days worked) with a slightly under-declared pay slip. The audit reveals a discrepancy of around €300 – calibrated to remain credible (a normal month for a long haul truck) rather than a shocking figure.
• Get started with my own data — skip the example and let you import your real card or scan your form.

If you choose the demo, you land directly on the audit with the result. When you return to the Dashboard, a guided tour in 5 stages starts automatically to present you with the key elements (audit, timer, folder, central button).

To clear the demo and use your real data: “Clear” button on the orange banner at the top of the Dashboard, OR Settings → Tools → “Empty entire cache”.

To review the introduction or guided tour : Settings → Tools section → “Review the introduction” / “Redo the guided tour” buttons.

Three preset buttons (15 / 30 / 45 mins) cover classic cases (meal break, mandatory RSE rest of 45 minutes after 4.5 hours of driving, waiting at the dock). A fourth button "+ personal" opens an entry for a free duration in minutes.

The count is persisted : if you close the app, put the screen to sleep or switch to another app, the timer resumes exactly where it left off when you reopen it. No drift.

At the end: alarm sound (configurable in Settings → Pause timer) + system notification + in-app toast.

Sounds available : Siren (default), Dry beeps, Horn, Vibration only (Android), Silent. Tap on a sound to preview and select it.

On iOS, the system notification only works if the PWA is installed on the home screen (Safari limitation). Sound and vibration remain OK.

Typical case: you installed the app, you uninstalled it, and now Chrome only offers you “Add to Home Screen” (which just creates a browser shortcut, not a real app).

Chrome blocks true installation proposal for several days after uninstallation, to avoid install spam. The solution is to reset the site data:

1. Type in the URL bar: chrome://settings/content/all
2. Search app.truckermaster.fr in the list
3. Tap on it then “Clear and reset”
4. Come back to app.truckermaster.fr, wait 10-15s
5. Menu ⋮ → you must now see “Install the application” with an icon 📱

Alternative: clear browsing data from the last 24 hours in Chrome (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data) — this also resets the PWA counter to zero.

Recommended: CR USB Type A or Tachogram (15-25€ on Amazon). Basic CCID readers, without an intermediate USB hub, which work immediately on Mac, Windows and Linux.

Avoid on macOS: Cherry GmbH XX44 — recurring bug where the card is marked as “mute” by the Apple driver. The app detects this case and displays help, but workaround is not guaranteed.

Card reading requires a physical USB reader plugged into a computer. The majority of phones don't have a USB port for this kind of hardware (and the USB web API is restricted on mobile browsers).

Current solution : read your card on your computer, then use the function “Export my data” in Settings → Tools. You receive a file .json to send to you by email/AirDrop/Drive to your phone. The mobile app has a button “Import a JSON export” which loads everything in seconds.

A reading USB-OTG native (reader connected directly to the phone) is considered in the longer term — it would require native Android development which the current PWA version does not allow.

No. All your data remains stored locally on your device. Neither card reading, nor OCR scanning, nor any calculation requires a remote server.

An option of encrypted cloud backup will arrive later, but it will remain optional (toggle in Settings).

The calculation engine is based on the National Collective Agreement for Road Transport (CCNTR — IDCC 16) and the French Labor Code (articles L3121-22 for overtime, L3245-1 for prescription, etc.).

The source code which calculates (normal hours/equivalence/supplement 50%, night hours, weekend bonuses, allowances) is covered by 41 automated unit tests which validate each case. You can consult the Methodology page in the app (Settings → FAQ) for details of the formulas and legal references.

Limit : this is an estimate. For an official complaint, have it validated by a union defender or an industrial tribunal lawyer.

Currently: CCNTR Goods (IDCC 16), especially the profile long-distance highway driver, coefficient 150M.

The CCNTR thresholds (152 hours normal, 186 hours equivalence, 50% beyond), night hours and unit rates are all configurable in Settings, which allows you to adapt to other profiles (short distance, travelers, specific company agreements).

OCR (Tesseract.js) depends on the quality of the photo and the format of the file. Tips:

• Good light, clear photo, taken from the front (not at an angle).
• Scan page by page if your form is 2 pages long.
• Check each extracted field in the “Extracted Detail” list and correct it by hand with the pencil icon before saving.

If certain fields are systematically false for your employer, report it by email with an anonymized form — we will adapt the OCR patterns.

Yes, 100% free. All features (card reading, audit, PDF generation, annual view, etc.) are unlocked.

Eventually, certain advanced functions (unlimited PDFs, cloud sync, auto alerts) will become subscription-based, but the core (audit + simple complaint) will always remain free.
