Mandatory inspections

Never let a document expire without noticing again

Updated 8 August 2026 · by Yann, a working truck driver

Medical examination, FCO, driver card, roadworthiness tests and tachograph inspection: the seven deadlines that can take you off the road, tracked to the day.

One forgotten date, and the day is lost

An overdue roadworthiness test, an FCO that expires, a driver card past its date: these are rarely serious lapses, they are dates that slip by unnoticed. The cost, though, is immediate — a day off the road, a fine, sometimes the vehicle immobilised.

The seven deadlines tracked

Inspection Applies to Frequency
Medical examinationDriverDepending on the driver's age
FCO — mandatory periodic trainingDriverEvery 5 years
Driver card renewalDriverEvery 5 years
ADR refresherDriverEvery 5 years (if enabled)
Tractor unit roadworthiness testVehicleStatutory interval
Trailer roadworthiness testVehicleStatutory interval
Tachograph inspectionVehicleEvery 2 years

You enter the date of the last inspection: the app works out the next deadline and shows how many days are left. The medical examination uses your date of birth, because its frequency depends on your age.

Four states, at a glance

✓ In order

The deadline is far off: nothing to do, with the number of days left shown.

⏳ Keep an eye on it

The deadline is coming up: time to book an appointment.

⚠ Urgent

Only a few days left.

✕ Expired

The date has passed: to be sorted out before getting back on the road.

The module's home screen sums up the overall situation: everything is in order, deadlines are approaching, or something needs sorting out.

A reminder in your calendar, not one more notification

Each deadline can be exported to your calendar as an event, with a reminder set for when the date draws near. You get warned where you are already looking — without having to open the app to think about it.

What this module is not. It is not a maintenance logbook: there is no oil change tracking, no tyres, no repairs, no invoices, no mileage. And it is not fleet management software: it is built for one driver and the vehicle assigned to them, or for an owner-driver. Better to say so plainly than to let you find out after installing it.

These dates are nobody's business but yours

The dates you enter, your date of birth and the status of your inspections stay on your device. No company account, no automatic transmission: this information is only there to warn you.

Frequently asked questions about deadlines

Which deadlines are tracked?

Seven: the medical examination, the FCO, the driver card renewal and the ADR refresher on the driver side; the tractor unit roadworthiness test, the trailer's, and the tachograph inspection on the vehicle side.

How do I set it up?

You enter the date of the last inspection for each line. The app works out the next deadline and shows a countdown in days, without you having to think about it again.

Why is my date of birth asked for?

Only for the medical examination: its frequency depends on the driver's age. Without that date, the deadline cannot be worked out correctly. It stays on your device.

What if I don't carry dangerous goods?

You leave the ADR option switched off and the line doesn't appear. You can enable it later if your situation changes.

Can I get a reminder?

Yes: each deadline can be exported to your calendar, with a reminder as the date approaches. It's your usual calendar that warns you, not one more notification to watch.

Is this a truck maintenance logbook?

No, and it matters to say so: there is no oil change tracking, no tyres, no repairs, no invoices. This module tracks mandatory regulatory inspections and their dates, not the mechanics.

Is it made for managing a fleet?

No. It is built for one driver and the vehicle assigned to them, or for an owner-driver. There is no multi-vehicle management and no company access.

Where are these dates kept?

On your device. No automatic transmission, no company account: this information is only there to warn you.
